Jay D. Turner, MD, PhD is an American Board of Neurological Surgery certified attending neurosurgeon and an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) in Phoenix, Arizona. He serves as the Director of the Barrow Clinical Outcomes Center, Co-Director of the Barrow Scoliosis and Spinal Deformity Center, and Clinical Director of the Barrow Spinal Biomechanics Research Laboratory. Dr. Turner’s practice focuses on complex spine surgery.
He has particular interest and expertise in adult spinal deformity and is committed to improving patient outcomes through research and innovation. He is an active member of the International Spine Study Group (ISSG), a leading research organization dedicated to the advancement of the field of adult spinal deformity. He has authored over 150 publications with a focus on clinical outcomes research and spinal biomechanics. Dr. Turner is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine. He currently serves on the Executive Committee and is the Chair of the Publications Committee for the AANS/CNS Spine Section.
